about Whitney
Whitney is a friendly, compassionate LMT who helps clients thrive. She strives to create a comfortable space in which clients can be active participants in their own healing. Whitney uses an integrated approach emphasizing relaxation and relief, and specializes in Swedish Massage, Lymphatic Facilitation, Sports Massage, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Techniques, and Muscle Energy Technique. She holds a special place in her heart for the LGBTQ+ community, service industry workers, teachers, dancers, and those experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or stress.
Whitney has always been drawn to healing and seeking out ways to offer comfort to those who need it. She believes that safe, restorative touch is a necessity for humans, and she is honored to create opportunities for people to receive that. Whitney approaches work with a firm understanding of body systems and anatomy, and blends various modalities into a unique treatment that is tailored to each client.
Whitney is a professional, but this does not stop her from making sound effects, swearing, and creative metaphors (like describing fascia as “the Saran Wrap of the body,” or glute jostles as “assisted twerking”). She loves answering questions about her work, and helping clients learn about what is happening during sessions.
When she isn’t working, you’ll probably find Whitney on a dance floor, celebrating movement and connection through blues and fusion, or DJing at dance events along the west coast. She’s also a broad spectrum geek who supports artists, Comic Cons, and libraries whenever she can. While she’s never played in a D&D campaign, she’d definitely be the cleric of the party (or a very wrathful druid). During the pandemic, she accidentally built a small forest in her house, learned a lot about trauma, and practiced bodywork techniques through learning how to bake a really tasty sourdough loaf.
values and mission statement
I want to be known for the care and attention I bring to each session. I want my clients to leave my table feeling satisfied, relieved, and gooey. I want my clients to feel seen, heard, and safe to fully relax into a session. I want to help them to feel curious about their bodies, rather than shame.
I will accomplish these goals by keeping my focus on the client and their needs, approaching each session with an open mind and listening to their words and their bodies, and holding a genuine appreciation for each client, exactly where they are.
I honor my client’s experience, their preferences, their goals, and their trust in letting me work with them on their journey of healing. I am patient, curious, responsive, and enthusiastic about my client’s successes.
